The game is played with a soccer ball on a soccer field with soccer goals.
Any time the ball is kicked into the air anyone else can catch it before it hits the ground again. Once caught, the player with the ball can run or pass in any direction.
If the player with the ball is tagged with two hands the ball is dropped to the ground and soccer-style play continues. There is no down to stop the play and no forced change of possession.
A throw into the goal counts for 1 point.
A soccer-style goal counts for 2 points.
A header counts for 3 points.
You can't kick the ball up to your own hands, you can't kick or toss it to your own head, and no tossing it into the air to catch it again in order to avoid a tag.
Easy-peasy.
That’s it in a nutshell.
Now you know how to play Gatorball.
